
Who are the best athletes?
Think back to school.
Were the best athletes the strongest in the weight room?
No.
Were they the fastest on the field?
No.
While they were among the fastest and strongest, they weren’t the fastest and the strongest. Bigger, faster, stronger is the mantra for the trainer who doesn't know how to make you better. (If the best athletes aren’t the strongest and fastest then why are you training to be stronger and faster?)
Obviously, the best athletes are the best in their sport. Did you also notice that they were pretty good at other sports, too?
We call the best athletes "Natural Athletes." Every athlete should train with one single purpose: to become a better athlete.
When it comes to sports, what skills are the most important for the athlete to master?
The "basics."
Have you ever noticed that the best athletes have the best basics?
